Hi Linda, this is excellent. There is such a beautiful delicacy about this portrait. You are developing very good patience and your drawing is benefiting greatly from that. You look as though you really loved this drawing. there is only a tiny area that could be further refined and that is the top lip (left side), it is a touch too far to the left, at the tip. just needs to come over a litle more to the right side. just shade it a bit further over.

It is quite normal for even the most experienced artist to have many attempts at getting the facial parts correct. This is called 'refining' and it is a process of getting to know the features in the portrait. the first few times we don't 'see' clearly then the more we work on the portrait the more we see. This is the normal evolution of a drawing, not just a beginner thing so you are perfectly on track even though you need to redraw and redraw the area. The important thing is taht you didn't mess up your paper in the process. That means you worked softly and carefully. Well done on a sensational drawing. I hope you submit this to the 'Cindy Wider's Alumni' forum. and that goes for all of you too.

Keep going Linda.
